And the trip begins

Hello once again everyone! Sorry for falling short on my promise to get caught up, but I’m back. I’m gonna try to keep my posts a bit shorter after this one, so they can be read more quickly and enjoyably. I’ll try once more to get caught up to today, but first I have to cover my fantastic vacation throughout Northern Germany from October 12 to October 20. I’ll just cover the first three days in this post, and then split the other parts into two posts. Enjoy!    After the fun beginning to my fall break, it was time for the real fun to begin. For our trip, we (my host-mom, host-sister and I) were going to take a “tour” of Northern Germany, stopping at many major cities and seeing many places. We began early Wednesday morning, October 12. The plan was to leave at 8:00 in the morning, but my host mom had come down with something and wasn’t feeling up to starting the trip. Luckily she was feeling much better come 12:00, so we packed everything in the c...

A little Travel Never Hurts

Hello again! I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s post, and if you did, you’ll probably enjoy this one! After my first three weeks I had really fallen into the rhythm of German life, and not a ton happened. Despite this, I hope I can make this post entertaining and interesting for all of you guys.    So after my fun weekend on the 17th and 18th, I started yet another normal school week. It’s a weekly gathering where people sell used bikes, and we were heading there to try to find a better bike for me to ride. I really wanted a street bike so I could get...

Last Weeks in Hedersleben

Welcome back! Here's the second half I promised in the last post. I was going to make the two into one post, but I soon realized that wasn't the best idea. So hopefully splitting into two shorter posts works better, and makes it a bit easier to enjoy. Anyways, this picks up on our 3rd week of language camp, on August 22. The second week had been a pretty normal week, with pretty much just class as usual. Fortunately, on the third week we had our next excursion, on August 24, to the beautiful city of Quedlinburg. Our language camp was held in Hedersleben, a tiny town 40 minutes from Magdeburg. Quedlinburg was the nearest “large” town, with a little over 20,000 people populating its streets. Since it was so close, we didn’t need to rent busses like we had for previous trips. We just hopped on the local bus line, which eventually took us to Quedlinburg. We arrived a bit on the outskirts, and walked into the town to their high school, in this case a “Realschule” (Germa...
