Life in Hedersleben

Herzlich willkommen! This is now my 6th post, and I’m now just over 6 weeks into my exchange. I recently added all my pictures to my last post, so you should check it out again! This is a super late post about the second half of language camp, and I’m so sorry this took me so long. I think from now on I’ll keep my posts shorter and less elaborate, and hopefully that will speed up the process. Anyways, this post is over the middle part of language camp, and what a normal day was like. It covers from August 15 to August 24. I hope you enjoy!    For one and a half weeks after our trip to Leipzig we had a completely normal class schedule every day. A normal day for me started very early in the morning. I usually woke up at 5:50, and after getting ready for the morning I would be out by 6:20. Breakfast didn’t start until 8:00, so I used this time to write blogs, read my friends blogs (you should check them out too! Look for the “other CBYX blogs” tab at the top), edit videos (a sl

I'm back! I hoped you liked my last post (I don't really know what happened, but it should work now. This post follows me right after boarding my flight, and through my fantastic first week of Language Camp. There aren't any pictures in this post, because it would take days to upload all my pictures on this WiFi. I'll re-post this later with all the pictures (when I'm with my host family). Anyways, a lot has happened, and I'm going to try to cram it all into this post, so grab some popcorn and get comfortable!    Let's begin on Monday afternoon, August 8, as I quickly finish my last meal in the US (a mere muffin and bagel), put my laptop away, use the restroom, and get in line to board my flight. I had gotten a middle seat (very middle, the farthest from the windows), which I wasn't thrilled a

Hello everyone! I’m so sorry I haven’t been posting any blogs recently, I’ve been very busy here at language camp and my first post about German is almost done. This is actually an older post, which I had tried to save and post in the airport on airport WiFi, but despite having checked to see if it was posted (and it was, it showed up as posted), it seems to have been lost for good. I tried to rewrite it here, although it’s hard to remember exactly what I was feeling as we left. Oh well, here it is and I hope you like it.    I’m leaving for Germany in just a few minutes, so my journey is finally about to begin. I’m incredibly excited to begin this crazy adventure, but first I’ll share with you what has been happening the past few days. We resume on Wednesday, August 3; several hours after we finally arrived in DC, when we drove into the city to explore the Mall. We were visiting at night, because you can actually park at night, and because it’s much cooler. After parking as
